I hope you see the inconsistencies in your viewpoints. I too drink alcohol, but in principle does it really make sense for it to be legal if many other so-called illegal drugs do less harm?

You must learn to be patient if a solution makes the most sense. In general, nothing of great importance comes from instant gratification.

I do, but it just so historically happened that alcool is accepted. Don't abuse it and you'll be fine. The less temptations there are the better.

A solution makes more sense if I get to live to see the result. Selfish - true, but I won't lie to myself saying "it's for the greater good", I just don't believe in that.

Well, despite its current legality and acceptance, wouldn't it be for the greater good to make alcohol illegal? Many lives, marriages, and families might be saved.

Don't abuse it and you'll be fine.
This idea holds for all drugs. So why not just legalize them all?

We tried prohibition before, it didn't quite work People can't live without some sort of "stimulant"

Come to think of it, legalizing all drugs could solve some problems associated with them. I disagree about all drugs fitting "don't abuse it and you'll be fine". I am not addicted to beer. People who use coke or LSD ARE addicted to it. Completely different story there.

Do a Google search. Alcohol is actually a highly addictive drug. It is well known that alcoholics undergo withdrawal symptoms when deprived of the drug. Many crimes are committed in order to obtain alcohol.

Does making any drug illegal work?

It's addictive, but most of alcohol users aren't addicted to it. Most illegal drug users are addicted to that. Alcoholics most often have a personal problem that leads them to that.

Make the punishment harsh enough and it will.
