im not a fan of 4dr muscle but it is a nice car. i used to have a 62 chevy 2 2dr hard top all origional. it was a cool car i think, really needed at least a 327 though. the power glide kicked my *** but oh well.

 

i'm a big fan of the old land yachts, why? because it shows that americans were all for luxury, sportiness, and fun. now, it's work work work. honestly, i'd do a restomod build, and have a hell of a toy. my friend has one of those, but his is the biscayne, not the impala.

 

My first car was a 66 Impala hardtop. Corvette Yellow, black interior, my first car that had radial tires on it. Had the 283/195hp auto. Was a great car. My brother wound up with it and let it turn almost white. I visited him one time and did about a saucer plate area of his trunk deck back to the vibrant yellow which forced him begrudgingly to do the whole car! Used to take that car on dirt road "trails" in the Adirondack Mtns upstate NY. Many times had to "lift" the car over rocky areas of the trail by the doors!

Good luck restoring your 66! You'll get lots of attention driving that down the street!

BUT anyways... THE LISCENCE BRANCH SUCKS!!!!!!! ok so im looken to save some cash and get a historical liscence plate for it... cause they just look beter on the rear... and its cheaper...LOL BUT WHY THE F*** do ya have to have a STATE COP ( not sherif or city cop) inspect the car to be able to get the historical plate... BUT YET if i just wanted a regular plate i just pay them preaty much...... they say they have to INSPECT it to ensure that its HIGHWAY safe..... which is stupid if you can just go get a regular liscence plate and they dont look at ANYTHING!!!
so after waiting an hour for one STATE TROOPER... they call me saying he cannt do it and they dont have anyone till about 8pm MAYBE to inspect the car.....

as soon as i get the impala on the road THEN after im sure its road worthy... like tires and alignment... THEN i can take apart my civic and change the timing belt and such... cause my motor is now at 99K miles....

but i dont think gas was to bad for the old school... BUT ya gotta keep outta the gas pedal.... which is harder then ya might think. LMFAO



only thing that i would LOVE TO SWAP outta this impala is the tranny!!!! this 2speed sucks for highway cruisen!!!!!! BUT for smoken the tirs and a realy quick 0-60mph.... it does the trick!
