Well if I had enough money to even get a PS3 I'd certain purchase a good TV to go along with it. Or hook it up to my nice PC monitor.

It might not be to the point yet but high definition TV's and players are gonna be the standard soon enough. That doesn't exactly mean you have to jump on the bandwagon just yet, but plenty of people do care about Blu Ray. I've played the PS3 on a nice HDTV in full HD output as well as watched some Blu Ray movies and they look extra sexy like that. Tekken 5: DR in full HD mmm...

well ya but how many people REALY CARE ABOUT BLUE RAY?

i sure as helll know i dont care about it! unless it comes with the KILLER TV... doesnt matter to me at all... id rather have it as a option and keep it outta my wallet!
The difference between dvd and blue ray quality is stunning, much like the advancement and difference between vhs and dvd. I went to a convention for home electronics about 4 months ago and I was amazed. That brings my other point up about a PS3. It in the end is so much more than a gaming system. In a world where at the moment you have to pay $500+ for a blue ray dvd player the playstation is a great deal as you get those technologies plus much more. The PS3 is more of a center hub for all of your home movie, gaming, and music needs bringing top notch level performance to each segment. For people that are older such as myself it makes more sense to buy a PS3 over anything else.

Sony just released info the thier PlayTV service too (which is currently only going to be available in europe for the time being, but I'm sure it'll come here eventually. It's a box that turns your PS3 into an HDTV tuner, lets you record HD programs to your PS3 hard drive and even encodes and ports them to your PSP if you have one. You can also use your PSP to connect to it wirelessly while your away from home and program what shows to record and even watch them on your PSP.

I don't think any other company has anything near what Sony has up it's sleeves for it's gaming products. Microsoft is trying, but is constantly playing catch-up and Nintendo just has a built in audience.
