Default 01 ex shifting problem

the will start and idle fine,
*auto trans*
but itll rev up if I don't ease onto the throttle very slowly, like it goes into neutral.
if I ease onto it, itll be fine drive.. whats the problem?

Manual or automatic? If it's manual, this sounds like the clutch is worn out. A bad clutch will "break away" and let the engine rev up without the car going faster if you give it too much gas.

the problem is 01 civics had faulty automatic transmissions they knew about it but never issued a recall the 03 05 got a upgraded internal filter but that was basically just a band-aid for the problem. i blame hondas reputation getting ahead of them also greed. but maybe you got lucky and just have bad solenoids. when is the last time you changed the trans fluid is the fluid at exact level ???
