01' LX Ageing Front suspension repair question
Hello new member here, This is the first time I have needed to Join a honda forum as my 2 2001 civic LX's have been rock solid until now and need some help so here it goes. Right around 180,00 both devloped a odd "bonk bonk" noise when going over very small bumps; it sounds the same as hardened worn rubber bushings on my Infinity G20's rear trackbar but this car doesnt have one- A friend said complinance bushings? My wife's civic has more miles, 210,000 and the same noise plus a issue where I can grab the top of the passanger front tire and rock it forward and back nearly a inch! Its super noticable and everyone I show freaks out, I see the joint just forward of the axle visiable threw the wheel well moveing around alot- what parts are normal to need replaceing? Both cars still handle pretty good except sometimes I get a vibration that feels like the lug nuts are loose.
What parts are known for faileing and what should I inspect first? And where is a good online source for OEM honda parts?
Thanks, Joe
