Default 02 Civic EX unable to start car, cranking, no power to ignition coils

Unable to start car / not getting any ignition / coils and spark plugs not sparking / no power to EGR / no power to alternator

Drove car to the store with no problems, driving normally and started normally. Car runs excellent for 200k miles. Came back to car, dead stick/not starting. Need some assistance please?

New Battery

New Spark Plugs

New Coils

New Starter

New Belts including Timing Belt (also in TDC)

New Water Pump

New Alternator

Everything plugged in / No loose wires / grounded

Fuses good under hood and under dash

I have power in the cab and dash.

dash and cluster lights up / no warning or engine light on, nor flashing.

I have power in the fuse box.

Relays under hood and behind glove box working and clicking over normal.

I have power to the starter and cranking / belts, cam and crank are turning when trying to start.

I have fuel and compression.

Tried starting it in Park and in Neutral.

Any ideas, what the problem can be?

Anything I can check that I may have overlooked?

im not overly familiar with the 7th gen civics but if the car does see the engine turning it wont fire the ignition circuit. your run signal is active as the fuel pump is coming on and the ignition switch circuit is probably good as the fuel pump is coming on and its triggering the starter. possible distributor issue or cam/crank position sensor. generally if its not getting a signal from those as its trying to start it wont trigger the icm to trigger a spark so no spark. could also just be a bad ignition control module. again not overly familiar with the 7th gen civics so not sure what type of system it uses for any of those control electronics.

One thing for sure is this civic does not have a distributor, nor an ICM. But I did check if the cam and crank sensors were plugged in (closed connection). And checked if I was getting power to the sensors as well and still no power (not good). However, I have considered replacing them as well and hope to see better results. Thank you for your suggestions.

ahh didn't know they moved into that stuff before the 8th gen. alright you may also want to search for the pinout on thr ecu also then. your car doesn't have a distributor and icm but the ecm still does the same function as both. it picks up the trigger signals from the cam and crank and triggers the coils on the plugs. might just be a general problem with the ecm also as it seems nothing in the engine is being powered.

So I’m going to replace the cam and crank sensors tonight. Crossing my fingers this may fix the problem. If not, at least I know these have been replaced. I pray it doesn’t come down to replacing the ECM.

Well, replacing the cam and crank sensors didn’t work. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong?

Default Problem Solved. “Your car will run!”

Thanks for your help bros. Found the main problem and fixed it. I didn’t bother to check to see if I had any compression. All 16 valves were bent, unheard of. When the plastic timing cover snapped pieces of it got caught up in the belt forcing the timing to skip 90 degrees back asswards from TDC. Replaced it with a refurb head from EBay. Used my Dremel to resurface the block because whomever did it last time gouged it with razors, which explains my oil leaks. Torqued everything back together and now she lives. Took a long while because I’ve never experienced this problem, nor did this type of job before. So I had to hit the books on this one
