I have a 1991 honda civic that cranks but won't start. The battery is good. All the fuses are good. When I sprayed starting fluid into the air intake, it wouldn't do anything. The main relay is good. I replaced the fuel filter, and there's no sign of fuel leakage, but the grooves are misaligned. In the first photo, the grooves on the left brand new defective filter is aligned differently than my old oem filter on the right. I'm pretty sure that the hoses are supposed to rest on the grooves, but as you can see in the second picture, they don't. Is it possible for my car to crank but not start just because the hoses are not resting on the grooves? Here is a video of the results of me connecting spare spark plug to negative terminal to battery.
