Default 1998 Civic: Rear Turn Signal Problem

Just bought my 1998 Civic LX a few weeks ago and it has a handful of problems/oddities, most important atm is when SOMETIMES when I have the left turn signal on and apply the brakes it stops flashing. Right side is fine. It looks as if sometimes when I brake the small green turn signal indicator on the dash just barely lights up.

Anyone else had this problem? I see that it used to have an alarm system, perhaps there is a grounding issue? This doesn't always happen, sometimes it works perfectly normal.

Will post a few more problems in a different thread.

That is usually a bad ground in the trunk.
