Post 2000 CIvic 2dr ex coupe keyless entry

Hi guys, i'm new to this forum so forgive my ignorance.
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe and the stock radio has been stolen. As i've read, my civic didn't need the dealer radio.
I have my brother's 04 honda civic remote (which I assume works) and was wondering if i could somehow get his remote to work for my car.

I am pretty sure you need a remote for a 99-00 Civic.

yeah, they used a different set of frequencies for the 96-00 and 01+ Civics. Gotta have one from that year range. Ebay is your friend on that one probably.
