2002 Civic LX - Strange Noise
I just had a couple of friends, one of whom is a mechanic, replace my timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and water pump on my 2002 Civic LX. I noticed a strange noise the next day, and the only description I can think of is the sound a baseball card stuck in bicycle spokes makes (similar to this noise, but more mechanical of course). I have also noticed that when I press the clutch, the sound goes away. I know very little about engines, and my mechanic buddy has admittedly never replaced a timing belt on a Civic (he has on many other small cars). Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Did you do anything to the transmission?? maybe was changing out the fluid during the timing belt job and forgot to fill it?? How about when driving, does it still making grinding sound?
Or this is just incidental that your tranny bearing suddenly goes bad.
