2007 EX Tire Wear Problem (Resolution)
My 2007 Civic EX has 7200 miles and 3 months old (first owner). As the result of a creepingroad noise I checked the tire thread. I have about 6 millimeter remaining threadon the front AND 3 millimeters remaining thread on the rear. To me this wear and noise is the result of wheelalignment. Is a wheel alignment at the get go covered under warrantee? Do you concur with my diagnosis? Thanks in advance.
Resolution:
Wear due to rear wheel camber control arms, parts on order. Dealership will cover 100% on warranty (including alignment and 2 new tires). Thanks for stepping up to bat Honda, much appreciated.

Yes if the car was misaligned since new that would be covered under warranty. Though they may try to say you hit something and threw it out of alignment, which would not be covered.
The tires themselves have a seperate warranty. You may find yourself having to pay for new tires in any case.
The back tires on a front drive car should always last a lot longer than the front ones, so something is wrong.

RE: 2007 EX Tire Wear Problem
If I were to put a marker (arrow made from black tape)on the center of the rear view mirror, which is the center of the front window and another marker on the center or the rear window, can I use these to determine misalignment. If the vehicle is aligned then the two markers should line up with the center of the lane I am traveling in on a straight away. If the vehicle is misaligned then the marks would point to one side of the lane or the other. This is assuming I have one eye closed while lining up the markers.

This is 3 years later. After the dealer installed the newer rear upper camber arms (-2 degrees fixed to -1 degree fixed camber) we still had trouble wearing out rear tire. We are snowbirds and as such we load down the car and travel 7200 miles each winter. We did resolve the problem by installing a third party adjustable rear upper camber control arms and set them at zero degrees camber and zero degrees of toe in and the problem cleared up.
