Default weird tire wear problem

Last post on my tire problem, I promise. I just got new wheels with supposedly almost new tires, and I was getting a whomping noise in time with rotations. I found this on one of the tires, does this mean that the tire is pretty much ruined?

Right now I am riding on one hx and one steelie in the front. cause of the weight difference would it hurt anything to drive for the week this way, or do I have to switch out the other front rim for steel?

i cant really tell alot from the picture but i am guessing this is diagonal wear on the tire it looks to me like possible strut wear when your struts begin going bad and start wearing tires it goes in a diagonal pattern and gives that diagonal wear a choppy feeling and will cause road niose. if there is enough tread left across you might be able to put on new struts and rotate the tires to the back for a bit and let them even back out.

That tire is done, don't put it back on the car. You probably have a bad shock.

yea i didnt pay attention to that last pic earlier that tire is done. but it deff looks like a bad STRUT to me. if the tire was on the front i would say just get you 2 new fronts struts or if it was on the back do the same. good luck

I just put the tires on my car 2 days ago, so it was the previous owner's strut thats bad. I just wanted to make sure that tire couldnt be fixed in anyway before buying a new one: /

assuming all tires have about same treadwould it be a bad idea to drive with 3 bfgoodrich and 1 diff brand, or would it have to be 2 and 2?

it will be fine just put the new tire on the back and from the looks of it it looks to me like the ebrake was on or tire was locked up and drug... and wore a flat spot on the tire.

always make sure that the front 2 are the same the back dont matter.
