Default 6x9 rear speaker conversion in a 92-95 civic sedan?

hey, i thought i read somewhere (on this site i think) that you could do a 6x9 rear speaker conversion on a 92-95 civic. if im mistaken, what is the biggest speaker i could get to fit in the rear while still using the stock grilles?

I'm actually looking to do this same mod, can anyone give us some insight? Wanting to put in some nice Polk 6x9's, the hole is made for 6.5's....
