'90 cx white smoke fuel smell in exhaust, not HG, help?
d15b2 1.5 stock
recently my civic started to blow a white smoke that smells of fuel, the headgasket is not blown. For the first 10 or so seconds at cold and hot startup there is no smoke, then it smokes. It looks like the steam you see on a cold day at cold startup but does not smell of coolant only of exhaust and raw fuel, also at warm idle this steam/smoke occurs aswell driving with wot. I have checked the computer and it says:
coolant temp
TPS
Intake Air Temp
Fuel injector
I am lost as too if i should replace all of these or if one will solve my issue. I am thinking it just may be stuck in warmup cycle?
any positive input is greatly appreatiated.

How are you so sure the head gasket is not blown?
Running on too much fuel makes black smoke. Fuel smell in the exhaust is normal until warmed up.
For multiple codes, reset the ECU and see which code reoccurs first. The IAT, ECT, and TPS sensors can all be tested with a volt / ohm meter. ECT controls the transition from open loop (not warmed up) to closed loop (after warmup).

the car smells of fuel all the time, regardless of tempurature,
thanks for the ECU tips, i did reset but after approx 1hr of driving, no codes. It was still smoking so i am in the procces of replaceing the injectors with a friends ( Terrible Fuel consumption) and checking the ohms.
thanks, j
