Hello,
I didn't ask him about thermostat. But I will.
Can high CO emissions cause engine overheat?

Actually, high engine heat can result in high NO:

Engine Overheating - Inadequate engine cooling can will high NOx. If your vehicle's cooling system is not working efficiently, (i.e. bad radiator, thermostat, hoses) high NOx will be created. Remember high NOx nitrous oxide is created when an engine's combustion chamber temperatures reach over 2500F. You will want to make sure your vehicle's cooling system is working properly, and your vehicle's temperature gauge is always indicating normal.

Hello,
when I talked to auto service center guy, I felt that he is not saying any good.
Can I assume that he has no idea why my temperature gauge is going way up to the red mark?

Hello,
Auto service center guy said that thermostat is in good condition. He is saying it needs new head gasket.
So my question is why is the temperature gauge still going up to the red mark? what is the relation between head gasket and temperature gauge?
I got new radiator, new radiator fan, thermostat is in good condition (from his words); what else I have to check?

Thanks,
Macha

A bad head gasket can allow super-hot exhaust gasses to boil the coolant and engine oil. A word of advice: If you are driving and notice the gauge sailing toward the 3/4 mark, turn on your heater to full blast and shut your engine as soon as you can. High temperatures can warp an aluminum cylinder head, which would end up costing you much more money than for a head gasket replacement.

If you have a head gasket issue you should be seeing combustion byproducts in your cooling water. If your fan isn't coming on as you near the red zone on your gauge the it's either your switch or the fan motor. Put 12V directly to the fan and see if it runs if not your fan motor could be shot.
