Default 93 civic noise

i just replaced the rear main, flywheel ,clutch ,preasure plate throw out bearing and oil pan. i used 10/30 engine oil put it all back together and now have this weird noise . the noise kind of sounds like a playing card stuck in the forks of a bike it goes away when the clutch is pressed. i am stumped should the be a additive in the oil.

Sounds like an input shaft bearing...was there any noise before you replaced the clutch?

It's possible the ISB was already going out and was just made worse by pulling the trans....it's a common problem with Honda manual transmissions.

You could just take it apart and replace the ISB, it's not very difficult and would only cost about $30 for the bearing. I would recommend replacing the needle bearing too which is another $20 or so. There's a couple good DIY ISB with pics and step by step directions.

There could be more damage but you won't know until you get in the trans. If it has a lot of miles and you plan on driving it for awhile longer you could go for a full rebuild.

Or you could get a salvaged unit.
