did you find that thing in the weeds,it is filthy.i think you can use this also Honda Civic Shop Manual 92-95 by Sinkhet.pdf

lol I bought it used back in September. Definitely was a rough owner. Water pump was missing a bolt so they wedged it in there with some random piece of metal. :\

That should fit, but with a used one you don't know how long it will last. You could check local junkyards. I think there are only two different starter types for the whole D-series era, manual and automatic.

People were selling kits for a few dollars to replace the copper contact points in the back of the solenoid, which is what causes most of the "clicks but doesn't turn" failures in these starters.

They sell new ones at Autozone for $65 (cheap) or $110. Would that $65 one get me by? It's my daily driver, don't need much.

Also, is the thing I noted in my pic the starter - wanting to verify before I rip it out.

Alright I got the bolts/screw done from the starter and out. However, how the heck am I supposed to get the electrical cable off the the starter so I can get this thing out of my car? :\

its held on by a nut,remove the nut and pull off the wire

Disconnect the battery first, of course. That terminal is always live since it is wired direct to the battery.

Yea I definitely disconnected the battery before I did anything. I'll try and get this starter out when I get home from work. Thanks guys.

Alright I managed to get this starter out and get a replacement and get it installed. Started right up the first time. Thank you guys so much!
