95 EX Coupe 1.6 A/T - 22 mpg city?
I have tuned up this car best I can think of. It has new cap, rotor, wires, syn oil, pcv, o2 sensor, headers, catback, and air filter. I'm only getting around 22 mpg in the city. Is this typical? I was really hoping to average more around 30.
The new 2008 EPA mileage estimates for this car are 23 city / 31 highway at http://www.fueleconomy.gov

I ordered a cheapie SRI from Ebay. Might as well put that on and add a K&N filter to it since I have the headers and catback. I guess I'm just going to get crap mileage in the city no matter what I do. A manual transmission really isn't an option here because of the horrendous traffic jams, I'd burn out a clutch every year, and my left leg would be twice the size of my right one.
My daily commute is about 8 miles, and that takes me around 30 minutes minimum, so I am driving an average of 16 miles per hour, and thats if everything is perfect. Maybe what I need is an hour meter so I can calculate my gallons per hour? O_o

I wish I could rig up some kind of deal to make the engine kick into super low idle, like maybe 400rpm while I sit forever in a queue at traffic lights, creep 30 feet and repeat.
FWIW, on the few occasions that I can get it out of the city, it seems to do pretty well on gas. I love the way the 95 civic handles, its great! But 22mpg city isn't anything to be proud of IMO.
Guess I'll keep saving up for that Yaris liftback, or Smart Fortwo [sm=noooo.gif]

I know I would be tickled if I could get 22mpg with my pickup. I get 15-18 on a good day on the highway. My civic will get ~31 on the two lane, and 35+ on the interstate. That little 1.6L loves to rev I guess.
