Default 96 civic dx 5speed wont start plz Help.

Car wont start. Turn key lights come on and nothing. I put in a new ignition switch, changed starter, had battery tested its fine. it runs just fine when pop started. So i ran a wire from the positive battey pole to the starter and it kicks. No wires look bad and and everything seems to be connected. Any suggetsions? I really aprrecciate any feedback from my honda gurus. thank you Peter

Likely the clutch switch. There is a switch at the top of the clutch pedal which disables the starter unless the pedal is pressed all the way down to press the button on the switch. There is a rubber pad on the pedal arm that presses the switch. The rubber pad falls apart then the switch does not get pressed and the starter will not work.

You can test the battery, starter and big wires by jumping the small terminal on the starter to battery + terminal. The engine should crank. Make sure the transmission is in neutral and the brake set so the car doesn't move.
