Default 96 civic dx won't start, starts when jumpstart?

just bought a 96 civic dx, it was a reconstruct vechicle, the engine is clean and the frame are good, the airbags were blown for some reason must of hit something ,look like they just replace the front bumper, well
the problems is: all the lights on the dashboard like, engine check, srs, brake, are all on,it can't pass imissions test cause the secondary o2 sensor is cut off can't find the connector to it? the check engine light is on? and finally it only start when i jumpstart it? i replace the alternator, starter, battery, check all the fuse is all good, it had a problem with the alternator speed sensor fuse before, found that bad wire, and replace it allready, known the speed mph works,

just can't figure out why it won't start by itself, turn the key over, hear a clicking noise for 1 second and totally dead no power indicator on dashboard,

jumpstart it and it works fine, you got to leave it on all the time thought, or else it won't start, unless you can find some one to jumpstart it.

First check that it is legal in your state to drive a car without replacing the air bags. If not it's going to be expensive to replace them.

Sounds like your battery is not charging. You will need a volt ohm meter to test further. When the engine is running but the lights, etc. are all off, you should have more than 13.5 volts at the battery.

If you only have 12 or so, test that there is battery voltage on the large white wire at the alternator all the time (if not, check the wires, and the big fuses in the fuse box). Test that there is battery voltage on the "I" wire at the alternator (see sticker on alternator) when the key is on.

Have you taken the car to somewhere like Autozone? They'll check your Check Engine Light (CEL) codes for free. Have you also checked all of your ground wires?

Read this for 02 sensor locations. https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ensor+location

It appears the alternator is working, it could be bad connections at the battery. When you put the jumper cables on you tighten the connections up a little.
