Newbie to the forum. I have a '96 Civic Ex 2dr Coupe that had a D16Y8. My motor had a spun main bearing, andand a friend of mine had a D16Z6 out of a '93 Del Sol Si. Motor was rebuilt and put into my '96 and does not want to run right. I swapped over the Y8 part over to the Z6. Aka mini-me swap. Engine light is on. I tried to plug it in and read the code but it doesn't read anything. As if there isn't a computer. It will run but all it does is spit and sputter. I have brand new plugs wires and rotor button on it yet I don't think its burning all the gas because its got a real strong gas smell coming out of the exhaust. Im stuck and have no idea what the problem is. Any help would be awesome and much appreciated.

 

Could the problem be that I have the wrong computer?? Does anyone know what computer is in a stock '93 Del Sol Si / Part # off of the computer?
