mxs- comments on welding the holes shut ... there is more to it than that i just got done with a swap in my 2000 ex your best bet is getting a head from a 98 or newer. i do have a rebuild head for sale that will work on your car.

Yeah I don't know the specifics, I just remember Forty having problems with the air injection holes when he put the 99-00 intake manifold on a D16Z6 head.

Okay. after further investigation... I am going to use my new engine with the VTEC head. Looks like the head gasket set is going to cost me around 100.00. I am assuming that these head bolts are torque to yield, or stretch bolts? I need to replace these don't I? Also. Is the timing belt the same from the -7 engine as it is the -8? or do I need to change that as well. I might as well change it while I'm there, anyway. Just wondering if the belt or cam/crank sprockets would be different? Thanks for all your help so far!

Anyone have any ideas? I hate to start calling parts stores until I have all my information. Thanks in advance.
