Default 98 civic d4 flashing

Ok so the other day I let a friend Try my ecu in his coupe which is a stick. My car is auto well when he put it back in the d4 started to flash. And when I switch from park to reverse or drive it does a sudden jerk. The acceleration is slow now to. The cel is on the codes was transmission control system which is the tcu right? Also a code said no dtc def.

Was it code 70? Code 70 just means Auto Transmission Malfunction.

Make sure you got the right ECU back. A manual ECU won't work right with an auto transmission.

Always disconnect the battery before unplugging or re-plugging a car computer. They can be damaged by "hot plugging".

Have you tried disconnecting the battery to reset everything?

Yes I disconnected it many times to see if it would reset. I don't think he disconnected the battery tho when he put it back in. If the ecu is bad would it throw a code about the transmission.
