ok i looked for a iacv i read on here that it might need cleaning and i cant find it,....anyone know where it is on this car???.............thanks in advance

Cleaning the IACV usually only helps a pulsing idle. It's located on the intake manifold, back passenger side by the throttle body.

If you haven't done a tune-up to your car, that would be the first place I would start. Check the ignition timing too. That may help the low idle.

Default me again

ok i finally got the iacv all cleaned but i put the gasket in wrong and messed it up some ( put it on backwards because i did it on the car ) but know i pulled the t/b and see that it goes a certain way but i think now its too flat so i put some of that gasket maker on it to help seal just want to know if that will be ok ?? to use the RTV silicone ? thanks in advance

Default RPM issue

Hi,

I was reading your posts and I am having a simular issue with my 2005 Civic EX. Once I get up to 65 or 70 mine is running at 3000 rpms and I know that is not right. Once it gets there it stays until I slow down do to traffic. I was wondering if anyone can help me determine what is the cause of this problem.

This is an old post.

7th gen's rev high at highway speeds, EX's more than LX's because of diff gear ratios. My '05 EX runs at 3k going 65 too....almost 4k going 80. Don't worry about it, they were designed for it.
