I recently bought my car and the past two days we've had steady rain. Well, earlier when I left work I noticed the passenger side floorboard from front to back was soaked! Anybody else have a similar problem? It was to late to trouble shoot the problem this evening but I plan on working on it tomorrow. I'm thinking the weather stripping may be worn out???? Thanks for the help.

That very well could be.

The first step is finding out for sure where the water is coming in from. If it's somewhere out of the way, I'd recommend using some silicone to seal it up.

 

My car has been wrecked twice on the passenger side so not everything lines up anymore. I have the same issue.

I recommend getting some stick on weatherstripping from Home Depot or Lowes and stick it to the metal on the body where the rubber seal would meet the metal. Build up the seal that way.

 

Thanks for help fellas! I'm going to run through a car was and see if i can find where the water is coming in. The car is used to go back and forth to work so the patch job doesn't need to be pretty, lol.

 

Last Friday I tore into the car and found the lower passenger side weather stripping on the windshield had come off allowing water to leak into the cab. I patched the spot up with some rubber sealant and let air dry for a few hours. So far so good! We had consistent rains from Wednesday night till this morning and the carpet is dry. Thanks for the help.
