Default AC/Heating problem

Hey guys, I have a 2003 Civic LX. A couple of days ago I tried to turn on my AC, but it didn't work. I have noticed that the two fans by the radiator turn on for about a second, but then shut off. It doesn't matter if the notch is set to cold or hot, or the power that I set the fans to, the fans still only turn on for about a second. If I want to turn the fans back on, I need to turn off the car completely and then turn it back on. What could be wrong? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Is clutch on the A/C compressor enguaging and staying enguaged when you turn the ac on? I belive if the system detects a falt in the compressor, it turns off the fan as well.

You'd hear a clunk from the compressor and the plate next to it's pulley would start spinning.

I think that model has the compressor thermal switch with 2 small wires that is prone to fail. Would need to pull a diagram to see. Check the thermal switch and the pressure switch for continuity. The control panel supplies a ground to that circuit, and if the switches are closed the MCU signals the ECU to turn on compressor and fans. There is no spin check sensor on the compressor though if the engine idle goes too low, the ECU will cut out A/C.
