Default AC problems

Ok, first off i have a 92 civic lx, the problem is that the ac works randomly... it will be blowing cold one minute, and the next minute it will just be taking the air from outside and pumping warm, humid air at my face. Then like 10 mins later it will go back to being cold again. Any help would be appreciated.

For anyone else........The problem was the clutch gap. Once I removed a spacer to get it back to the bottom of the spec range, it worked like a champ.......has ever since (4 hot southernmonths now)
