AC Trouble
Hi All,
I have a 1994 Honda Civic EX with 245,000 miles on it. I have had it for about 1.5 years. I bought it from father in law in the winter. He said the heat didn't work so good. I seen that the engine temerature never got to operating range so I replaced the thermostat. then the heater worked great. Now that it is very hot outside the AC will not blow cold air. I found out that before I replaced the thermostat the AC worked extremely well. I really didn't think that this would affect my AC. I always thought it just didn't blow cold air. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Make sure that the heater control valve on the firewall (engine side) is closing fully when you move the dash lever to full cold. It is very common for the push-pull cable to get out of adjustment, allowing hot water to continue to flow to the heater and fight the A/C. The heater will win.
I checked it out & it seemed that there was a plastic clip hanging there so I put it back together & is closing the valve better. Refrigerant was low so added some. It was cooler but so was the air temp. It'll be hot today so that will be the true test. Will post back today.
