Default Alarm fault

Hi all
Ive a civic type R with an alarm fault.
I disconnected the battery to put a new one on. Since ive done this the siren keeps sounding. I can drive the car, which seems pointless, thought the immobiliser might kick in as well.
Anyone come across this problem before. I suspect it aint cheep and is it a diy fix or main dealer?
