Default annoying (transmision?) problems

couple of crazy things are happening to my 93 civic 185k (which could be related problems):
I am new at driving stick, so it could be just cus im ignorant, but i hope someone could help

1. The car lurches in 1st gear for no reason. Say i accellerate on first gear to about 2500rpm, and i let go of the gas and leave the clutch pedal alone, the car is just supposed to coast right? my lil 93 coasts for about 1 second and lurches like i hit the breaks or something (but i didnt do nothing). this prob is also present in 2nd and 3rd gear, only less so at higher gears.

2. sometimes after sitting in trafic for a while, i cant get into any forward gears. When the light goes green, i push in the clutch and try to shove the shifter into the gear, it wont go in. if i try to jam it in, it grinds like a B. (usually by this time im panicking). what's weird is that i can get halfway into the reverse, but if i go the whole way, it grinds. after it's in reverse, i can get into all the forward gears again. this only happens after i sit in traffic on neutral for a bit.

i changed transmission fluid and it got a bit better for about a few days. now the problem is back. any idea what the problem is?

Default RE: annoying (transmision?) problems

1. It's not supposed to just "coast" in 1st gearif you hit the gas then suddenly let off. It will jerk, it's normal. It happens because you are in such a low gear and you are applying power to the engine, then all of a sudden there is no power to the engine. With the gear ratio of first gear, it will jolt (hard) when you do this.

2. If it grinds in reverse, you need to "clear the gate" by shifting into any forward gear, then to reverse. It shouldn't grind when you do this. If it's hard to get into 1st while in neutral, keep cycling between neutral and 1st until it becomes smooth. Also, don't force it, just ease it in. If it won't easily go in, shift back to neutral and try again.

Also, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to change tranny fluid and get the system flushed.
