audio shuts off when brake pedal is pressed
Hello,
I have a Honda Civic HX 1997
It just started to happen lately that whenever I hit the brake pedal, my audio system shuts off. It was like suddenly the electricity got cut off from the audio system.
I was wondering if anybody could tell me what the problem is ? I believe it's not the battery since it's a pretty new battery.
Thanks

First charge your battery (some auto parts stores offer this as a free service) and clean the battery electrodes/connectors to see if the problem goes away.
As mentioned by basbal123, you may have a loose wire/connector. Check for a loose connector at the rear of the audio unit. Also look for a loose wire around the brake pedal (picture). You might be pulling on a wire when you press the pedal.
Alternatively, the audio unit is wired into the brake light system, and the latter circuit is now interfering with the former.
