bad ecm or tp sensor?

Exclamation bad ecm or tp sensor?

i have a 98 honda civic and i was wondering what would be the outcome of a bad ECM and also the outcome of a bad TP sensor?

Bad ECM? Car wouldn't start, fuel system wouldn't prime. Depends on what part of the ECM is shot. However, it is very rare to see a ECM go bad randomly.

TPS would probably start the car, but just run like *** and probably shut off when you give it gas. CEL would be on for it as well.

well then that cant be my problem, my car runs fine at times but then other times it runs like sh**, the CEL is on, but i cant seem to figure out what the problem is, my car shifts at about 4,000-5,000 rpms and sometimes it stalls...im confused. but thank you for the information!

Have you had the CEL checked over? It usually can be scanned for free at a local auto shop.

yeah, ive had several codes given to me and i've replaced them, and the most recent codes were P1106 and P0122, which have not been replaced yet.
