What year and model Civic? Why not replace the Power Steering belt as well while you are at it?

1) Remove PS pump belt (picture 1).

2) Remove A/C compressor belt (picture 2).

3) Remove alternator belt by loosening the adjusting bolt and if necessary the lower mount bolt (picture 3).

Install new belts in reverse order. Tighten PS and alternator belts using a pry bar.

You have to remove the belts in order, so it would be best to have all 3 new ones before you start. I think on that model you will have to undo the lower left engine mount from the frame to get the A/C belt on. Otherwise it is not complcated. It is best done from underneath after you jack up the car and support it securely, take the left front wheel off and take the plastic splash guards inside the fender off.

Thread is from 2007. Best to do some searching around the forum first to see if anyone else is having the same problems. All sorts of A/C related threads are popping up now that it is summer time.
