Default A/c disconnect advice?

Im installing a new radiator core support on my 98 EX. I had to cut through the center beam on the old one, because of the a/c pipe that runs in front of it. Now Im debating on how and whether or not to disconnect the a/c pipe to put the new one on. Does this absolutely have to be in front of the support? Should I drill the two bottom welds on the center beam on the new support so I can bend it back and slip the pipe through? Any advice would be helpful.

Do you have a service manual? I would have to check mine but if not, go to the link in my signature and download it.

it should tell you whether you need to disconnect the a/c or not.
