A/C Hissing and not cold
Hello, yesterday I noticed that the ac started to hiss kinda randomly but still cold. Today the ac was blowing warm and still hissing. I noticed that the compressor still cycles on and off, and the condensor fan is spinning.
I took the cover off evaporator where the filter goes and it was dripping a bit of water and the bottom of the expansion valve was cold. Why was this cold and not the hoses coming off the ac compressor. I did notice that the High side hose has green "algae" which I am assuming is leaked freon since I added Dye when I replaced the compressor, condensor, and dryer 5 months ago. So what could it be?
A leak in the High side hose, which leaked the freon? But if the freon levels are low why is the compressor still cycling? Dont have gauges to hook up... any feedback would be appreciated.

Clean off the green stuff and see if more comes out. If it does, there's a leak. Loss of performance over a few days also strongly suggests a leak. With a low charge, the expansion valve and part of the evaporator may get cold but not the whole thing. So really everything is pointing to a leak in that high side hose.
