a/c smell -dont laugh, this is serious
ive read up on this topic in this forum, but i want to confirm something...
i have a terrible smell of cat **** comming from my a/c. its enough to make you gag. yes i have cats. they like to sleep on my car.
I DONT get the smell with just the vent on. it doesnt matter if i have it in recirc or not. ive taken to driving around with a can of air freshener and spraying it INTO the vents inside the car, which only covers the smell. vanilla cat ****. yummy.
i cant imagine how the cat smell can be getting into the air conditioning system. its a closed system, isnt it?
ive read about pollen filters in this forum. under the hood? along the bottom of the windshield??? does my '02 Civic LX have such a filter?? if one of my cats took a leak in there, can it get into the car, with the A/C on ONLY, but not the vent??
what can i do?? its terrible!

I wonder if you could train the cats to stay off your car at night. Motion sensor spray bottle?
I'm surprised that they are actually pissing on the car though. Seems like they always prefer to go on something soft like litter/grass/newspaper/dirt.
