Default Can’t get gas door open - Stuck at gas station ‘12 Civic

Never mind

Hello everyone,

I have already watched a bunch of videos showing how to replace the cord that opens the trunk and gas door. It’s the coldest day of the winter here and my cord has snapped, I believe.

Right now I just need to get the gas door open and can’t figure it out for the life of me! I’ve taken the 2 screws out of the trunk and pulled the carpet down and found where the cord goes to the gas door but pulling on it does nothing. I read a few places where someone said to rotate it and it will pop open. Rotate what? The cord, the metal around the cord?

If anyone could please explain this is a little more detail, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!
