here is the problem. it will crank like it wants to start. (when you turn the key) but the engine will not activate. im thinking it might be the distributor, but im not compleatly sertain. help me out guys

 

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Some simple things to check out and start with would be to see if the battery connections are tight, give the battery a charge or try a jump, and check the spark plug gap. Best of luck.

 

Start with the basics, your car needs fuel, spark, air and compression to run. Check the spark first, pull the plug wires out and attach a spark plug to it, check if there is a spark. To check if there is a problem with the fuel, spray fuel through one of the vacuum ports in the top of the cylinder head. You can also run a compression test to see if teh compression is correct. Hope it works out for you.

ha..almost always the problem on old school civics.....definatly check spark and fuel...and let us know...if your not getting either of them its prolly hte main relay

 

how dirty is your engine bay and how many miles on there car
