So im driving my 99 civic ex slowly in 1st-2nd gear around the parking lot and my car boggles. Is this normal for all Manuel Transmissions? At first I thought it was the fuel filter so I got a new one but that didn't fix the problem.

 

When you say slowly, how slowly are you talking because if you are trying to go to slow in any gear, you are forcing the engine to spin slower than idle, and it will "boggle"

 

Im going between 1-10 mph in first gear. All my friends tell me its normal but since this is my first MT car, I thought there was something up.

 

Since it's an EX, there should be a tachometer on the dashboard. You want to keep the rpm above 2000 when trying to accelerate in any gear except when you can't avoid it (initial taking off in first, or backing maneuvers). If the engine shakes when you are at or above 2000 and floor it, something is wrong.

 

yeah around 1-5 MPH in gear is gonna make the engine stutter, just use the clutch to keep it from stuttering,

 

yeah i know what you mean..im lazy so when i get to bump i dnt like to go to first i js rev my rpm in 2nd a lil higher n even out the clutch so it dnt bog out when coming into a drive way or am pm lol
