Default Car broken into Missing Wires!

My car was recently broken into and just two days ago my check my engine light turns on so my dad takes a look under the hood and finds that wires are missing and it seems like someone cut them out. This is my first car and I don't know the use of these wires or how much it would cost to get help. My car has been working fine but I am still concerned. I have a 2008 honda civiv hybrid. Can someone please tell me what these wires are for and their importance.

If the thieves unhooked the battery, you may have had to wait until the monitors set before the CEL appeared. In that case, they aren't particularly important. However, you should defintely replace them. You can find connectors with pig tails (a few inches of wire) so you can rewire everything like it should be. Many Honda connectors are the same meaning you can most likely go to a junk yard, or eBay to buy the new plugs for a few bucks. A few feet of wire won't be expensive either. Your headache will be figuring out where each should go.

You could always unhook the battery to try and reset it, but that isn't going to fix the problem, just rid you of the CEL until the monitors in the ECU are set again.

thats weird they cut the wires instead of just unhooking the clips. it looks to me they just vandalized it. somebody doesn't like you very much. find out what the codes are and that will tell you exactly what you need. it looks like its something to do with your VTEC solenoids.
