car not starting
it all started a little while back when it would randomly just stall out on me and not start back up right away. i would wait a minute and then it would start up just fine like nothing happened. then i went to start it one day, didnt start and it wasnt starting back up, had it towed to a mechanic and they said when they tried to start it up to witness the problem it started just fine. the same thing happened the next day. so i just took it home and they said if they cant witness the intermittent problem then they cant diagnose it, so i left. i have already replaced the plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, fuel pump and main relay. the fuel pump is not getting any power to it and its not turning on. in the haynes manual it says to try and jump the fuel pump with a jump wire by connecting the number 7 and 8 spots on the main relay connector. we did that and it still didnt work. i hear that the main relay is suppose to click 3 times during the starting process and when there is something wrong it wont do the final click, well its not clicking at all. the wire that comes in directly from the batter is hot and lights up when using a test light but no other connector lights up. i dont know what else to do. obviously something going to the main relay connector isnt working properly and theres no power going to the relay... any suggestions? if i cant figure it out before monday then i have to take it to a mechanic who hopefully knows what they are doing because the last people did not.
What year? A 94?
The fuel pump doesn't prime, right? Have you checked fuse 31, 24, and 18? If those are fine, clean and tighten the G101 ground wire attached to the thermostat housing.
Also have an auto parts store test the igniter unit in the distributor.

It could be a bad ignition switch. Pull the parking brake handle up and watch the BRAKE light on the dash while you try to start. It should stay on constantly both in position II (normal run position) and III (cranking the engine).
