Hey, my car was sitting for about 2 months while waiting for parts for rear disk calipers and rotors. Once I installed I took car out and admit I got on it pretty hard and the end of the ride my car would like purge. Of course it would. It will go to 4500 rpm then drop, Ill release the accelorator then will work again. I drove it again the next day and was fine at first then did it again on the way home. Well, now it does it as soon as I start up the car! It does have 2step on the hondata ecu and suppost to stop and STAY at 5000 rpms but now it cant even get to 5000. I replaced the distributor then fuel filter with guage to see if getting pressure and all is fine. Im lost! please help, took to Honda and after charging me $100 and not finding out anything cause they cant fix aftermarket stuff (yeah, told them before they worked on it) and my mechanic is like 30 miles (Charm City Tuning) I hate to tow it down there paying $130 and find out something small... Fluctuating idle I guess?

Clean out the IACV, inspect for vacuum leaks would be the first thing I would suggest.

Get AAA plus, only cost ~$105 per year for tows up to 100 miles. I have had 3 tows already and 1 lock out service (for a friend's car). More than paid for itself already.

 

Whereabouts are you? I don't know a thing about the Hondata ECU, but there are others here in MD that may be able to help. Or if you're around Annapolis, I know an amazing Honda mechanic that may be willing to come out to you.

 

cvcc- You were right. one of the connector plugs in the AICV needed to be sauderd back. Since a friend tried fixxing it by connecting the laptop to the hondata it wiped out my tuning and had to get that redone. So $600 to just get the damn thing sauderd... Im done, selling this car. I dont have time to fix this car. Rack and pinion just went out and my headers with lss then 1000 miles cracked (has warrenty but now gotta send in and wait on those) So my 00 civic si with b18c volk te37 rims, tein suspemsion, skunk2 short shifter sway bar, strut bar, lower bar, cam seal, and cam gears, apex i nor exhaust, aem fuel rail, and v2 cold air intake and many other upgrades is for sale!!!!
