IN TANK PUMP
GAS RUNS OUT ON 1/4 TANK WITH 4 GALLONS (KNOW ITS IN THERE) STILL IN TANK.
NEW TANK NEW PUMP.
TANK SHOULD BE TIGHT RIGHT?
PUMP ONLY GOES IN ONE WAY

 

well if your SURE it has 4 gallons in the tank thats typicaly 1/4-1/2a tank at least in my civics....
what year civic is it?

if your tank actualy has 4gallons in the tank and it kills the motor my only thought would be a problem with the pickup on the pump!
id drain the gas tank to ensure you actualy have that much gas in it, then remove the pump assembly and measure from the bottom of the tank to the pumps flange and see what your pump assembly hangs down to..... it could be something small like the ya need alittle longer hose to hold the gas pickup sock near the bottom of the tank. or ya just got the wrong tank or pump....

i can see it running outta gas if there is 1-2gallons left in the tank but 4gallons sounds like somethings off....

 

Thats what im thinkin so removing tank now to find out. But everything is reight . Tank ,pump
so im thinking just bnot long enough

fuel tank out pump out. filter still on pump hose on pump should be long enough because had to bend bottom of holder a little to put in holder. filter does com straight ou though and i thought should be angled towards bottom of tank. but dont have original anymore

 

If you have any air leak between the pickup filter and the pump, it will start sucking air before the tank is empty.

Most Civics you can work on the pump thru an access panel provided under the back seat, without taking the tank out.

 

crx no back seat. think its design of filter. comes staight off pump. dosnt drop down or any thing. pouring rain now.
cant tell by pictures but dont think filter right or maybe supposed to pint out to side instead off straight out. Wish i had old one to look at. Replaced 4 months ago and just now driving. I could have not paid enough attention
