Hi I had a CEL last year and I took it to the dealer and it was for my ignition coil and they replaced it with a, new OEM unit. My CEL came on today, could this be the problem?


I hope I made my point...


OP, get them to tell you the new code and you'll know what to replace.

Hi,my car has a few problems and the check engine is light on,I want to get it scanned, but wanted to know approximately how much I will have to pay for that. I live in Ontario Canada.

Usually it is free for a scan. Call a shop and ask.

nah up here in kanada the autoparts stores dont scan for free, i asked. easiest just to buy one on ebay.

Thanks got advice. Got the code from the dealer and it's the catalytic converter. I'm a novice diy so are there any pitfalls I should look out for when changing the converter? It is a bolt on unit.
