2005 Civic EX, latch is stiff like it is locked and will not open gas lid or trunk. I unfortuanately found this out with an empty tank at the gas station. If i turn the key in the latch lock and pull up i can get the trunk to pop eventually, however the gas lid wont. Any suggestions? Is there a way to manually open the gas door? ANy tips on pulling off the cover of the floor latch mechanism? What should I look for when I get it open?

Update: Diagnosed. First, disconnected latch control line near gas door, from inside the trunk. That pops open gas lid. Next, removed driver floor trim to get to latch mech. Found the cable was loose from latch and was not triggering control line. Pushed the line back in and trigger will work. It still comes loose though. could probably glue with no problems but will get new warranty part. hope this helps
