Civic jerk between 1st and 2nd
My 99 Civic auto trans. jerks between 1st and 2nd. It seems it jerks harder if you accelerate harder. You can back off the throttle and stop the jerk but this is getting annoying. Took it to a trans. shop and he said alot of Hondas shift hard between 1st and 2nd. Ususally because of bad motor mounts (stiff). Suggested just keep backing off gas. I havent replaced spark plugs on this 4 cyl. and I have 65k miles, and am now throwing a P0165 code. Could this all be related? Too much fuel in exhaust because of a bad plug and causing a jerk when it does fire? Or is it totally separate?
I replaced the plugs last night with Honda plugs and replace the air filter too. Before I replaced them, I did notice every once in a while a little stutter (from lack of detonation I guess). That hasn't reoccured yet....but the jerk between 1st and 2nd on hard acceleration is still there. Still have a check engine light from p0135 o2 sensor as well....Will be troubleshooting that today. Mine is a 4 wire blk, blk, white, green. I know white is signal, green is ground, and two blacks are heater power. Does the heater circuit read low ohms when cold and then rise as its heated. And if I dont see a low reading while disconnected from the car its bad? or do you have to have power from car before it will read anything?
Front o2 sensor....primary 02 heater circuit....autozone has bosch for 82.00 and includes plug so no splicing. I sure hope youre wrong Remmy, but I have suspected all along I guess. I see a bunch of TSB's for 1999 Civic tranny but it just gives a summary and not alot of detail. Any suggestions?
