Civic Won't Spark
Yeah, that was something I checked about the wires. Would you believe the starter actually turned over and the car ran and I HAD forgot to re-install the main ground strap on the trans! Power was flowing THROUGH the valve cover strap. I got it connected, but nothing changed.
I will take your advice and go ahead and replace the wires andput the old distributor back. I did think about the jumped tooth on the timing belt. Would one tooth off make it run this bad?

Yep, got ya. I'll complete the other tests on the system and if all pass will spring for a igniter unit. Still hate it when your fixing something (timing belt) and something completly unrelated breaks. Very weird!

Please be aware that the igniter test does not directly test igniter unit function. Instead, if you lack spark, the test attempts to rule out everything except the igniter unit. If all tests are fine, then the igniter unit is implicated by a process of elimination.

Well I did check to see if the rotor was pointing to the #1 post when I timed the belt but never had the cap off while cranking. I'll check that. I'll also run a test wire right from the coil high tension spring and check for a spark. Now I'm wondering if my screwdriver was making contact with the spark plug wire. The coils secondary resistance per the Haynes manual is supossed to be between 12.8 and 19.8 k-ohms @ 70degF and I got about 11.5 k-ohms @ 80degF. I blew that off as close enough with my cheap meter and the 80degF. I did all the checks in the Haynes manual for the ICM (Ignition Unit) but there are a few more in the check that RonJ reply has that I will check.
