Default Cleaning The "H", the "Civic" and the "LX"

This is probably a stupid question, but this forum seems like it has alot of nice people who are willing to help out and that's why I'm going to ask it. My Emblems on the back of my 1998 Black Honda Civic 4dr Sedan LX are kind of dirty. Like...the insides of the letters...are dirty..and I tryed spraying a hose on them but the dirt..it doesn't seem like dirt..it's like white stuff or something...won't come off...any ideas how to clean inbetween the letters real good to make the "civic" and such actually more legible?

well my dad had open wound surgery or what ever its called but anyways he had to clean it out. so they gave him these huge q tips and they work real well. you can get way down into your vents and clean them. and they have more cotton so they are more durable. but i dont know where you would find those unless you knew someome who worked at a hospital but regular q tips work also
