Clutch Question?
I have a 98 civic DX and my clutch seems to be acting a lil funny. The car has 42k with the original clutch. What seems to be happeing is my clutch is now engaging at the top end of the pedal, it use to engage in the middle. What could this mean? Also curious to know if my car has a hydraulic or cable clutch?
(may need to give more time - some are at work)
if not hydraulic, i would do the clutch adjustment (2 locations - if same as my 88)
if hydraulic - i pass.
see if there is a cylinder where the line enters the clutch - also under the hood up against the firewall where the clutch pedal would engage the cylinder - see if there is a cylinder there.

since you have a 98 you would have a hydraulic tranny to answer your question.
and your other question on you firewall you should have a little resevoir about 2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter thats for you "clutch fluid" (dot 3 bake fluid). you just might need to fill it up or bleed the system not really hard at all. Or if thats not it, it could possibly be you clutch itself or pressure plate. But good luck to you finding out hopefully i was able to help.

if low on fluid ,, most likely there is an hydraulic leak,, chk the clutch master and slave cylindes for possible leaks,,
chk the master from under the dash by the clutch pedal, se if therer is any fluid or grease looking stuff coming out of master cylinderr if so,, replace the clutch master, bleed system and retry it
