codes 73 and 74 after valve adjustment
Hello
I have a 97 lxD16Y7AND ajusted the valves. I let the engine cool for about three hours. I followed the intructions as per the DIY post in this forum. After adjusment codes 73 and 74 came up and it's idling rough. I cleared the ecu and the came up again.During the valve adjustmentI ended up breaking the cam pulley bolt, but was able to replace it without taking the pulley off the cam. If I had adjusted the valves when the motor was too warm could it cause a misfire? When the dealership replaced the timing belt 40k ago they had been out one tooth so I had issues with the timing. I took the car in and got it fixed but ever since then it makes a ticking noise. I think it could be a sticky lifter. I had thought the valves needed adjusting but after this there is no change in the noise.
Any input would be appreciated
Thank
Derek
